Raised in both California and Holland, Aura grew up playing piano and studying Indian Classical Music and Jazz. After completing a BA in music at the Maastricht Conservatory in Holland, she moved to London for two years where she began performing regularly and found her voice in songwriting.

From 2005-2009 Aura toured around the world where she sang at the renowned Teatru festival in Malta, Fiji, Hawaii, San Francisco and Seattle. In 2010 Aura recorded and produced her first EP 'Glow After Illumination' in Amsterdam. This led to a show at the well-known venue Paradiso. Aura soon moved to Los Angeles and began playing music around the city including The Viper Room, The Satellite and Hotel Cafe. 

In the fall of 2013, Aura successfully launched her first Kickstarter campaign, raising close to $10,000 to record her debut full-length album. 'Desert Sea' was released in February of 2014. 

In 2015 Aura wrote and recorded a piano piece for Steven Murashige's short film 'Venom Therapy'. 

Aura is currently working on an EP of ukulele songs that will be released in 2017.
